SBI photo and signature requirements at a glance
Online applications for State Bank of India recruitment normally ask for four files: a recent photograph, a signature, a left thumb impression and a handwritten declaration. Each one has its own file size range and a preferred set of dimensions. The figures below are the ones commonly published in recent SBI notices, and they are the starting values in this tool.
| Document | File size | Dimensions | What it should show |
|---|---|---|---|
| Photograph | 20 to 50 KB | 200 Γ 230 px | Recent colour photo on a plain light background |
| Signature | 10 to 20 KB | 140 Γ 60 px | Your signature in black ink on white paper |
| Left thumb impression | 20 to 50 KB | 240 Γ 240 px | A clear, dark print on white paper |
| Handwritten declaration | 50 to 100 KB | 800 Γ 400 px | Written by you in English, black ink, white paper |
The bank can change these details from one recruitment to the next. Read the instructions of your own notice, and use the Customise section whenever your numbers differ.
Which SBI exams this tool is for
The tool follows numbers rather than exam names, so it suits any State Bank of India recruitment that uses these four uploads. That covers SBI PO (Probationary Officer), SBI Clerk (Junior Associate), SBI CBO (Circle Based Officer), SBI SO (Specialist Cadre Officer) and apprentice drives, along with other bank notifications that copy the same pattern.
If your exam asks for different sizes, simply type the new width, height and KB limits into Customise SBI Requirements and everything else keeps working, including the live check and the ZIP download.
How to prepare all four SBI files
- Photograph. Select Photo, upload a clear portrait and keep your face centred in the crop frame.
- Signature. Sign on plain white paper with a dark pen, photograph it from above and crop close to the ink.
- Left thumb. Press your left thumb on an ink pad, roll it lightly onto white paper and photograph the print.
- Declaration. Copy the sample text by hand, in your own writing, and upload a photo of the page.
- Collect and save. Download each file, then use the ZIP button to keep the full set together.
Getting the photograph right
Choose natural light, such as a spot facing a window, so your face is evenly lit without harsh shadows. Stand in front of a plain, light wall and look straight at the camera with a relaxed expression.
- Keep it recent. The picture should look like you on the day of the exam.
- Show your whole face. Avoid caps, dark glasses and hair across the eyes unless your notice allows them.
- Fix a messy background. Our background remover can turn it plain white in seconds.
- Skip filters. Beauty effects can cause the upload to be rejected.
Signature and left thumb impression
For the signature, use a dark pen on unlined white paper and sign the way you normally do, since it should match the one you will use later. Take the photo from straight above in daylight so no shadow falls across the ink, then crop tightly and keep ink clean-up switched on.
For the thumb impression, press your left thumb on the ink pad, then roll it gently from one edge to the other on white paper. A single, dark, clear print works best. If the print looks faint, raise the ink strength slider rather than pressing harder and smudging it.
Writing the handwritten declaration
Recent notices have asked candidates to copy a short declaration by hand. The wording usually reads: I, (name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.
- Write it yourself, in English, in your normal handwriting.
- Use black ink on plain white paper, without lines or borders.
- Check your notice about capital letters, since some ask you not to use them.
- Keep the page flat and well lit so every word is readable at 800 Γ 400 pixels.
Why SBI uploads get rejected
- The file is outside the allowed KB range, either too big or too small.
- The image was stretched to fit the size instead of being cropped.
- The photo, print or handwriting is blurry, dark or shadowed.
- The thumb print is smudged or the wrong thumb was used.
- The declaration was typed, copied from a screenshot or written in capitals when the notice forbids it.
- The picture was saved in a format other than JPEG.
The live checks catch the first three before you ever reach the upload page.
Sharing, saving and staying private
Every image is processed inside your own browser, so your photo, signature and fingerprint are never uploaded to a server. When a file is ready you can download it, collect the full set into one ZIP, or use Share to send the image with a link to this page through WhatsApp, email or any other app installed on your phone.
Keep the finished files somewhere safe and delete shared copies from chats once you have used them, because fingerprint and signature images are personal.
