UPPSC photograph and signature at a glance
The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission collects a recent photograph and a signature through its online application and One Time Registration system. The table shows the values this tool starts with. The commission has not used identical numbers in every advertisement, so treat them as a sensible beginning and not as a promise.
| Document | File size | Dimensions | What it should show |
|---|---|---|---|
| Photo | 20 to 50 KB | 350 × 450 px | A recent colour photo with a plain light background |
| Signature | 10 to 20 KB | 350 × 150 px | Your normal signature in dark ink on white paper |
Before you upload, open the advertisement or the instructions page for your recruitment and compare. When anything differs, open Customise UPPSC Requirements and enter the exact width, height and KB range. The live check and the ZIP then follow your numbers.
Why UPPSC sizes can differ
UPPSC runs many recruitments, from the combined state and subordinate services to teacher, officer and technical posts. Each advertisement carries its own instruction sheet, and some ask for a different file range or a different signature shape than others. You may also find that a newer notice changes a rule that an older website still repeats.
Because of this, the safest habit is to read the line about file size in your own advertisement and set the target in the tool to a number comfortably inside it.
Preparing your files from start to finish
- Photograph first. Select Photo, upload a clear portrait and centre your face in the crop frame.
- Check the chips. Wait for the size and dimensions to turn green, then download the file.
- Signature next. Switch to Signature, upload a photo of your signature on white paper and crop tightly.
- Keep both together. Use the ZIP button to save the pair in one download.
- Upload in the right slots. Double-check that the photograph and the signature are not swapped on the form.
Getting the UPPSC photograph right
Face a window for even daylight and stand in front of a plain, light wall. Look straight at the lens and keep a natural expression.
- Keep it recent. The commission compares it with you at document verification.
- Show your whole face. No dark glasses, caps or hair across the eyes.
- Skip heavy editing. Filters change your features and can cause a mismatch.
- Fix the backdrop. The background remover turns a messy wall into plain white.
Making a clean signature image
Use a dark pen on plain white paper and sign as you normally do on official papers. Keep the page flat, photograph it from straight above and crop close around the ink. The signature should be consistent with the one on your education certificates, because it may be compared at later stages.
Keep ink clean-up on. If the strokes look thin after the file is shrunk to a small size, raise the ink strength slider a notch.
Common reasons UPPSC uploads fail
- The file is outside the allowed KB range.
- The picture was stretched rather than cropped to shape.
- The photograph is old, blurred, dark or has a busy background.
- The signature is faint, on lined paper or very different from earlier records.
- The file is not a JPEG, or the extension was changed by hand.
Staying private while you prepare files
All processing happens on your device, so your photograph and signature are never sent to our servers. When a file is ready you can download it, collect both in a ZIP, or use Share to pass the image and a link to this page to another phone. Remove shared copies from chats afterwards.
